CantoLX and the Ensemble de la Chapelle Saint-Marc present a performance of baroque music of the Martin Luther epoch at St John’s Church in Grund on Good Friday, 14 April and Saturday 15 April with a new edition of Passions and Lamentations, the repertoire written for Holy Week.
On the year that marks the 500th anniversary of the The Reformation, when Martin Luther published his 95 Theses creating a schism in the Catholic Church. To celebrate this Lutheran edition, cantoLX joins the whole of the Saint-Marc chapel to present the Membra Jesu nostri by Dietrich Buxtehude at the first concert and a second evening with German composers Johann Hermann Schein, Nicolaus Bruhns, Heinrich Bach and Johann Sebastian Bach.
