On Saturday 26 March 2016, at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette, IRINA will present their newest album “Home”.
The event will take place in the Kulturfabrik in Esch/Alzette (116, rue de Luxembourg L-4221 Esch-sur-Alzette Luxembourg) at 20:00 on 26 March 2016.
The Luxembourgish band De Roude Fuedem is scheduled to perform as a support act at 20:00.
The band IRINA is composed of Irina Holzinger (Vocals / Guitar), Kim Mersch (Guitar), Bob Mersch (Keys / Accordion), Davide Mirizzi (Bass), Lana Pauly (Drums) and Erny Sauber (Percussion).
In 2010 the band started out as a musical pair with one voice and two guitars in the form of Irina Holzinger & Kim Mersch. They wanted to combine the melancholy of folk music with the rhythm and light-heartedness of pop music. Their first album came that same year called “Irina Holzinger & Kim Mersch”. In 2012 the other members join the band and the IRINA that performs today was created. Their music is described as energetic, fun and driven by a unique voice, a voice that has often been associated with Janis Joplin, Joan Baez or Melissa Etheridge. Although they mainly play in Luxembourg, it hasn’t prevented a few pit stops in Belgium, France and Italy.
The first album of IRINA as a full band is called “Home”. “Home” signifies a return to ones’ routes, to what is essential. The album offers a variaty of moods and ambiances, translated into 11 tracks: songs which are sustained and drawn by the accordion “Be true”, “You appeared to me” and ” Maria”, melancholic pieces of music “Home”, “Let me sing to you” and “Let me cry”, light-hearted songs with a pop-song attitude “Come to me safely”, “Keep on walking” and songs that offer more intimate insights “Hello, my friend” and “Boundaries”.
Entry is €10 (+ presale fee) + download of the album on presale or €12 + download of the album at the door. For tickets go to: kulturfabrik.lu/fr/tickets
