On Saturday 10 October 2015, German-Cuban singer Addys Mercedes will be be transporting a Luxembourg audience to her home country with a performance at CAPe Ettelbruck blending traditional Cuban rhythms and pop sounds, reggae and rock.

Addys Mercedes will be warming the Grand Duchy with her Afro-Cuban rhythms and her distinctive voice will take the audience into a world of lush joy and deep melancholy. She creates a cultural bridge between her Cuban roots and her adopted Europe, having been raised in the countryside before heading to Europe in 1993.

Addys has demonstrated her musical prowess from an early age, performing for neighbours and passers-by at the tender age of ten and joining a group of professional musicians aged fifteen, practicing for several hours a day.

Her passion comes through in her stories of adventures and her dreams of childhood. On her first album 'Mundo Nuevo' in 2001, Addys described her life as a girl in Cuba, becoming one of the most famous artists of world music following her subsequent European tour. Her fourth album 'Locomotora a Cuba' was selected for the 'Preis der Deutschen Plattenkritik'.

Addys Mercedes will be performing at 20:00 at CAPE Ettelbruck, alongside Lia on violin, piano, keyboard and percussions; Cae Davis on bass, guitar and percussions; and Pomez di Lorenzo on guitar, tres and ukulele.
