UK-based recording artist Tom Jenkinson, known by his stage name Squarepusher, will be in the Grand Duchy on Wednesday 21 October to offer two distinct musical sets to the Luxembourg audience, as well as a the very first, hotly-anticipated full live debut performance of his band Shobaleader One.
Squarepusher extracts a number of musical influences to create his sounds, including drum and bass, jazz and acis house, as well as the more surprising organ music he was first introduced to during his school years in Essex.
The Shobaleader One band emerged as a vehicle for Squarepusher's group compositions, culminating in the release of their 'd'Demonstrator' album in 2010. Tom has since been developing this approach to writing and performing with a band, collaborating with like-minded musicians to build off of new ideas and reinterpret previous ones.
Squarepusher will perform acclaimed longplay 'Damogen Furies' from the Warp label, creating a fully-integrated live audio-visual experience. The recordings for the LP were all done in one take and are perfect for creating a spontaneous, stremalined way of performing live, to the enjoyment of its live audience.
Shobaleader One will be playing tracks from classic Squarepusher records released between 1995 and 1999. Squarepusher will be supported by Luxuriant DJ Crew of Luxembourg.
