MNHA, M3E museums reopening;

As part of the deconfinement (lockdown exit) strategy pursued by the Luxembourg government, the National Museum of History and Art (MNHA) and the Dräi Eechelen Museum (M3E), which have been open to the public since 12 May, have just announced the adoption of new measures to welcome more members of the public and gradually resume their full cultural offer (guided tours, conferences, workshops, etc.).

Such resumption of activities at these two museums from Tuesday 9 June 2020 will be only by prior registration. From this date, the exhibition spaces at the MNHA will be expanded from the currect restricted access allowed and, together with the Dräi Eechelen Museum, will once again offer a range of activities under certain conditions of access.

At the MNHA, all exhibition rooms will again be accessible, except the Wiltheim Wing where only the temporary Brushed by Light exhibition by Carla van de Puttelaar can be visited. The flow of visitors continues to be strictly regulated and the number of simultaneously authorised visits to the museum is limited to a maximum of 200 people, with a distribution of 25 visitors per floor or exhibition space. At the M3E, meanwhile, simultaneous access is allowed up to a maximum of 50 people to the entire permanent exhibition.

In the case of guided tours, these maximum numbers are reduced to ensure social distancing. The flow is regulated by one-way and entry and exit signaling.

At both the MNHA and at the M3E, the evening hours for free weekly access from 17:00 - 20:00 are being reinstated, i.e. Thursdays at the MNHA and Wednesdays at the M3E.

The museum shops are also open again in the two locations.

The health rules applicable since the reopening on 12 May 2020 still remain in force at the MNHA and at the M3E, i.e. the compulsory wearing of masks throughout all visits of the museum, as well as hand disinfection at the entrance to each exhibition space.

Finally, visitors are invited to show common sense, responsibility and solidarity by limiting contact and observing the recommended interpersonal distances.

Schedule of activities until the end of June

Guided tours (indoor and outdoor) are once again offered for a group of maximum 20 people and are therefore subject to prior registration, as for conferences.

Only workshops for adults are again offered: a maximum of 10 people is allowed per workshop in order to be able to respect social distancing.

Registration prior to all activities is mandatory, by tel: 479330–214 or by email: servicedespublics@mnha.etat.lu
