The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two suspects were arrested following a burglary at a detached house in Hesperange on Tuesday 11 August 2026.
At around 13:30, police received a report of a burglary at a detached house on Rue d'Itzig. According to initial information, the resident discovered two unknown individuals inside the property as she entered the house. The suspects fled the scene after allegedly forcing entry through a glass door at the rear of the building and searching several rooms in the basement and on the ground floor. According to the police, nothing is believed to have been stolen.
Police immediately launched a large-scale search involving several patrols, the dog unit and a police helicopter. One of the suspects was apprehended shortly afterwards in the surrounding area, while the second was arrested at around 17:45 on Rue de Syren in Alzingen.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, both suspects were arrested. Police also seized suspected stolen property, the origin of which is currently being investigated. The investigation is ongoing.
