The Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) has reported that more than 1,500 people attended this year's "Oldtimermaart" (vintage car market), held on its grounds in Bertrange on Saturday 28 September 2024.

More than 1,500 sellers, buyers or curious members of the public came together for this fourth edition. The organisers noted that attendance had "practically doubled" compared to previous editions.

This year, the vendors exhibited 64 cars dating from the 1940s to the 2000s. In a jumble, visitors could discover gems such as a 1952 Opel Kapitän, a 1962 Peugeot 404 Cabriolet, a 1977 Chevrolet Silverado C10 longbed Custom Deluxe and a 1995 Aston Martin DB7 Volante. The oldest vintage car present was a 1949 Desoto Coupé.

"The ACL offers us a unique platform for fans of vintage mechanics. I am really delighted to see so many people enthusiastic about these old [cars], which are often iconic models in addition to being generally in very good condition," explained Frank Maas, head of the promotion of mobility solutions and historic vehicles at the ACL.

The ACL recalled that Luxembourg has a large community of historic vehicle owners with 12,200 "oldtimers" and 15,700 "youngtimers" (in 2023, according to SNCA figures).

ACL experts were also available to help visitors with their choices, answer questions and sometimes facilitate discussions.
