The Grand Ducal Police have reported that one individual suffered serious injuries in a road accident on the A6 motorway in Luxembourg on Wednesday morning.
Shortly before 11:00 on Wednesday 9 August 2023, a rear-end collision occurred between a delivery van and a lorry on the A6 between Capellen and Steinfort, in the direction of Belgium.
The passenger of the delivery van was trapped and sustained serious injuries. Rescue workers and firefighters took the driver and passenger of the vehicle in question to hospital for further treatment after providing emergency medical care on-site.
The motorway between Mamer/Capellen and Steinfort was closed to traffic to allow the deployment of the rescue helicopter and for rescue work.
The public prosecutor's office has entrusted the criminal police with on-site investigations.
