The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal road accident occurred in Tandel, near Vianden in eastern Luxembourg, on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred on Veianerstrooss in Tandel around 14:00 on Thursday, when a manoeuvering delivery van hit and seriously injured a pedestrian.
The 65-year-old woman from Diekirch passed away shortly after. She had been accompanied by a toddler, who was slightly injured in the accident.
The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the accident and requested an autopsy.
