The Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) recently carried out 5,473 checks (194 vehicles more compared to the 2020 campaign) and tested 2,029 batteries (524 more compared to the 2020 campaign) free of charge.

As every year, experts from the ACL travelled the roads of Luxembourg to set up in the four corners of the country to check motorists' tyres, lighting and batteries. ACL Diagnostic Center technicians were present at thirteen different sites from Kaërjeng to Wemperhardt, as well as the parking lot of the Belle Étoile shopping centre in Bertrange. The 2021 campaign lasted one day longer than last year.

Of the 2,029 batteries tested, 18.43% needed to be changed quickly and nearly 22% of them needed recharging in order to continue to function optimally. According to the ACL, these figures show the need to maintain the car properly and regularly in order to reduce the risk of breakdowns, accidents or premature wear and tear. During the winter period, humidity and cold can indeed weaken certain parts essential to the good working order of vehicles, such as the battery or light bulbs.
