The Grand Ducale Police have reported that a fatal road accident occurred on the CR169 between Foetz and Pontpierre on Wednesday evening.
At around 21:00 on Wednesday, a vehicle driving in the direction of Pontpierre came off the road after a left bend and crashed into a tree. The car was then flung into an adjacent field.
The 24-year-old driver, who was alone in the car, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The public prosecutor's office requested that the criminal police launch an investigation into the cause of the accident and ordered an autopsy.
