Luxembourg's Roads Administration has announced that it will be carrying out roadworks on the A3 and A7 motorways this weekend.

A3 roadworks

At the request of Luxembourg's railways, the CFL, and within the framework of the construction of the new railway line between Luxembourg and Bettembourg, the Roads Administration will close off the A3 motorway between the Croix de Gasperich and the Croix de Bettembourg for maintenance work.

From Friday 21 May at around 20:00 until Monday 24 May 2021 at around 06:00, the following road sections will be closed to traffic:

- the A3 between the Croix de Bettembourg and the Croix de Gasperich from the Franco-Luxembourg border and in the direction of the A6 and A1 motorways;
- the slip roads to the Croix de Bettembourg from the A13 motorway and towards the Croix de Gasperich from the A3;
- the slip road to the Livange interchange from the N31 and towards the Croix de Gasperich on the A3.

From Friday 21 May at around 22:00 until Monday 24 May 2021 at around 06:00, the following road sections will be closed to traffic:

- the A3 between the Croix de Gasperich and the Croix de Bettembourg from the Gluck roundabout and towards the Franco-Luxembourg border;
- the slip roads to the Croix de Gasperich from the A1 and A6 motorways and in the direction of the Croix de Bettembourg from the A3;
- the slip road to the Livange interchange from the N31 and towards the Croix de Bettembourg on the A3.

Traffic on the A3 between the Croix de Bettembourg and the Croix de Gasperich will be diverted in both directions via the A13, A4 and A6 motorways.

Access to the Shell petrol station in the Berchem area will be blocked from 18:00 on 21 May until 06:00 on 24 May. Similarly, access to the Aral petrol station in the Berchem area will be blocked from 20:00 on 21 May until 06:00 on 24 May.

Due to preparatory work being carried out a few hours beforehand, traffic disruptions are expected towards the end of Friday afternoon.

A7 roadworks

From Saturday 22 to Monday 24 May 2021, the Roads Administration will renew the access control lights to the Grouft and Stafelter tunnels on the A7 motorway towards Neudorf, between the Lorentzweiler and Waldhof interchanges.

From around 06:00 on Saturday until around 18:00 on Monday, the following road sections will be closed to traffic:

- the slip road to the Lorentzweiler interchange from the N7 and towards Neudorf;
- the Waldhof interchange slip road from the A7 towards Neudorf (N11).

Traffic from the N7 towards Neudorf will be diverted from the Lorentzweiler interchange using the fixed detour "D2" via the N7 and N11 to the Waldhof interchange where access to the The A7 motorway will be provided. Traffic coming from the A7 towards Neudorf (N11) will be diverted from the Waldhof interchange via the Kirchberg. interchange and the Grunewald junction where access to the A7 motorway will be ensured.

A two-way traffic system will operate on the A7 in the Grouft and Stafelter tunnels.

Preparatory work will begin on Friday evening around 20:00.
