According to the Grand Ducal Police, one person has been injured following an unsuccessful overtaking manoeuvre on the N28, between Oetrange and Bous in south-eastern Luxembourg.
At around 22:40 on Thursday evening, two cars collided on the N28, at the Canach intersection, as the result of an unsuccessful overtaking attempt. The motorist doing the overtaking only noticed an oncoming vehicle during the manoeuvre itself. Unable to get back behind the overtaken car and in order to avoid a head-on collision, the motorist in question steered back into his lane, crashing into the car which had been in front. Both vehicles were thrown against the guard rails.
The motorist who caused the accident remained uninjured, whilst the driver of the other car sustained minor injuries. There was considerable damage to both vehicles involved in the accident, which had to be towed.
The road reopened at around 00:15.
