Luxembourg's Roads Administration has announced that it is carrying out works in Rangwee tunnel in Luxembourg-Howald next month.
As part of earthworks under the railway tracks at Howald and the construction of a new tunnel (Rangwee II), the Roads Administration will completely close off the Rangwee I tunnel (between Rue des Scillas and the Gluck roundabout) to traffic from 20:00 on Friday 2 April 2021 until 22:00 on Wednesday 7 April 2021.
Traffic will be diverted via Rue des Scillas, from Boulevard Raiffeisen (near the shopping centre) to the crossroads on Boulevard Kockelscheier, then via Boulevard Kockelscheier to the Gluck roundabout, and vice versa.
In addition, the following changes will affect municipal bus line 23:
- On Friday 2 April (from 20:30) as well as on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 April 2021, line 23 will be diverted between Gasperich and LT de Bonnevoie via the Cloche d'Or and the Howald artisanal zone. The Francophonie Quais 1 and 2 stops will be removed and the Charles Darwin stops replaced;
- On Saturday 3 April 2021, due to scheduling constraints, the route between Gasperich and Bonnevoie will be cancelled. Bus routes normally travelling to / from LT de Bonnevoie will have their terminus / departure at Gasperich-Francophonie. The LT de Bonnevoie, Neufchâteau and Rangwee stops will not be served in either direction.
Public transport users will be able to use the following alternative connections:
- From Howald and Bonnevoie to Gasperich-Cloche d'Or: line 28 via Gare-rocade to the central station (Gare centrale) and then line 23 towards Gasperich;
- From Bonnevoie-Neufchâteau to Cloche d'Or: line 28 via the central station to Francophonie and Gerhard Mercator;
- From Bonnevoie and Howald to Cloche d'Or: line 5 to Gerhard Mercator and, if necessary, continuation with line 23 from the Charles Darwin stop.
