The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a serious traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in Grevenmacher in eastern Luxembourg on Monday evening.

Yesterday evening at around 19:20, a car hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street on a pedestrian crossing below the Luxembourg-Germany border bridge. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Following initial first aid on site, the victim, who was not responsive, was taken to hospital.

Police officers were called to the scene to investigate. During the rescue and recovery work as well as the investigation, the accident site was closed to traffic.
