The Grand Ducal Police has reported that a serious traffic accident occurred on the A6 motorway near Strassen yesterday afternoon.
Around 14:15 on Tuesday, there was a traffic accident on the A6 in the direction of Luxembourg City, near the construction site in Strassen, reportedly as a result of a traffic jam caused by another construction site at the Helfenterbruck interchange.
According to police reports, the driver of a delivery van noticed the traffic jam too late and crashed into the last car. The collision resulted in the delivery van overturning before coming to a standstill on its side. The rammed car was pushed against the van in front, which in turn bumped into another van.
The delivery driver who caused the accident was seriously injured, while the driver of the car in front suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were taken to hospital for medical care.
The road was closed to traffic until 15:20 when rescue and recovery work was completed.
