Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has announced the extension of the precautionary measures for all vehicle technical inspection bodies in light of the ongoing
COVID-19 pandemic.
Given the evolution of the health crisis linked to the spread of COVID-19 in Luxembourg and in the interest of maintaining precautionary measures aimed at reducing the risk of transmission for customers and employees of technical inspection bodies, the provisions introduced last month have been partially adapted and extended until Sunday 17 May 2020.
The following precautionary measures are applicable for all technical inspection bodies:
- technical inspection bodies will only accept vehicles for the period indicated for which the technical inspection certificate will expire within two weeks or for which it is no longer valid;
- contact with customers should be reduced to a strict minimum;
- the number of customers waiting in a closed room must not exceed five people. In addition, a minimum distance of two metres between customers must be respected;
- technical inspectors must protect themselves by means of disposable gloves or by a disinfectant product. If non-disposable gloves are used, the gloves must be disinfected after each inspected vehicle;
- technical inspectors must wear masks or any other face covering that effectively covers the nose and mouth;
- if the inspector is to operate a customer's vehicle, it is recommended to use a seat cover.
