On Thursday, the Luxembourg Police detected a total of 25 traffic offences during the first checks carried out as part of the road safety campaign "D'Strooss ass keng Rennstreck" (the road is not a race track).

Yesterday, the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the Sécurité Routière initiated the first inspections as part of this new campaign, the focus of which is the safety of motorcyclists.

In this context, a major traffic control was carried out in cooperation with the customs administration yesterday afternoon from 14:30 to 17:00 in Diekirch, on Route d'Ettelbruck. A total of sixteen officials were involved. The main focus was placed on checking the condition of motorcycles since, especially at the beginning of the season and before the first motorcycle tour, some safety precautions should be taken by the drivers. During the inspection, the police officials also checked the validity of vehicle documents.

A total of 25 traffic offences were detected on this occasion and in two cases, the police issued fines.
