Wednesday 16 July 2025 marked the official launch of the ACL Car Sharing service in the Elmen district, in the presence of Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) representatives and the College of Aldermen of Kehlen.
The ACL developed this new project in partnership with the municipality of Kehlen and the technology operator Moovee, thus confirming its role as a "trusted partner" and "unifier" of mobility initiatives in the area.
The project is rooted in a participatory approach carried out with the neighbourhood's residents. The ACL observed that many households are ready to rethink their mobility if practical alternatives exist. ACL Car Sharing is designed to meet this need by providing two electric vehicles (EVs), available 24/7 for self-service use via the Moovee application.
ACL Car Sharing is a continuation of the ACL's rental offering, providing an additional solution that is "accessible on demand, easy to use and environmentally friendly". The service is based on three pillars: 100% digital access via the Moovee mobile app; 100% electric vehicles; local integration, in close cooperation with the municipality.
The ACL said that, through this and other projects, it was reaffirming its mission as a local partner: offering not only technical resources, but also tailored support and a networking role between public, technological and citizen stakeholders.
"As a mobility partner, our role is to listen to local needs, provide the right tools and create connections between stakeholders. ACL Car Sharing in Elmen is a good example of what we can build together, at the local level," commented Steve Deneef, Director of Sales and Business Development at ACL.
