On Tuesday 22 August 2023, Luxembourg's Administration des ponts et chaussées (Roads and Bridges Administration) confirmed that the second maintenance and cleaning campaign for motorway tunnels in 2023 will begins next week from Monday 28 August.
This maintenance includes preventive and curative maintenance of the safety equipment, checking the operation and interaction of the various equipment as well as cleaning the walls of the tunnels. In order to reduce the impact on traffic and while taking account of coordination with other construction sites, maintenance and cleaning of tunnels are mainly carried out at night.
The maintenance period runs from the end of August until the end of October.

List of tunnels and game passages concerned: Tunnels Grouft, Rëngelbour, Stafelter, Gousselerbierg, Mersch, Roost, Colmar-Berg, Schieren, Howald, Cents, Richard Serra, Kirchberg, Saint-Esprit, Pénétrante Sud, Pétange-Eglise, Biff, Secondary access to Esch-Belval, Micheville, Aessen, Ehlerange, Foetz, Frisange, Mondorf and Markusberg.
