On Tuesday 23 May 2023, ALD Automotive announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of 100% of the capital of LeasePlan, an international fleet management and mobility business, from a consortium led by TDR Capital.
In Luxembourg, only ALD Automotive will be part of the new group. ALD has entered into a share purchase agreement to sell LeasePlan in Luxembourg to Leasys, the joint venture between Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance and Stellantis. Once the sale to Leasys is completed, LeasePlan in Luxembourg may change its name.
This acquisition represents a major change that reportedly positions the new group as a global player in sustainable mobility with a total fleet of 3.31 million vehicles managed worldwide.
By joining forces, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan plan to pursue carbon neutrality and continue to shape the market’s digital transformation.
In order to ensure the strategic development of ALD Automotive in Luxembourg, Tim Albertsen, Deputy Managing Director of ALD SA, has confirmed the retention of Dominique Roger in the position of Country Managing Director.
