Wednesday 17 May 2023 marked the official inauguration of the Park & Ride Schwebach and its regular “Chargy” and ultra-fast "SuperChargy" electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, located along the N12 national road.

The Luxembourg Minister for Energy, Claude Turmes, together with Jean Konsbruck, Mayor of the municipality of Saeul, inaugurated on Wednesday, in the presence of officials from the Public Building Administration, the P+R Schwebach and its three charging stations.

The three charging stations include two of the “Chargy” type, each equipped with two 22 kW charging points, and an ultra-fast “SuperChargy” charging station. This “SuperChargy” terminal is the first charging station in the canton of Redange allowing charging speeds of up to 160 kW. In autumn, three additional ultra-fast charging stations will be installed on the P+R, including one allowing charging speeds of up to 350 kW.

According to Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning, P+R Schwebach constitutes an important link of mobility by absorbing part of the traffic at the gates of the capital coming from the canton of Redange.

This P+R can accommodate up to 84 cars. Next to the car park, there is a secure "mBox" bicycle parking service with 32 spaces, as well as a bus shelter with public toilets. A bus stop served by several RGTR lines is located in proximity to the car park.

The overall cost of this project was €2 million including tax.
