On Friday, Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, along with Luxtram and the national railways the CFL, announced various precautionary measures being implemented in the public transport network in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

RGTR regional bus lines

The following protective and preventive measures must be observed by all operators and users of public transport in the interest of everyone's health, travellers and drivers included: the front door of buses will remain closed and travellers are asked to use the rear doors to get in and out of the bus; the first row of passenger seats should be kept unoccupied as far as possible and the driver is requested to put up a barrier tape or similar mechanism; drivers will not sell tickets (RegioZone); public transport users are asked to keep their distance from the driver.

In principle, there will be no school transport from 16 to 28 March 2020 inclusive.

Special transport services

Regarding CAPABS, a transport service for people with special needs, the following services have been cancelled: transportation to competence centres for the duration of 2 weeks; transport to HMC workshops in Capellen for two weeks; transport to schools for pupils with special needs abroad ("ETRA" courses) for two weeks; transport to Parkinson Luxembourg until 30 March; transport to Fondation Kräizbierg (sheltered workshop) until 20 March; transport to Ligue HMC until 27 March; and transport to Tricentenaire (sheltered workshop / day centre) until 27 March 2020.

The following services are not cancelled: transport to sheltered workshops and Centres de propédeutique professionnelle (CPP); and transport to Alzheimer Luxembourg.

With regard to organisations in the disability sector, managers are free to decide how they intend to proceed: they can apply either general hygiene measures and recommendations or apply the same measures and recommendations as those which apply to care homes and accommodation facilities for the elderly. The aim is to protect the vulnerable and at risk population as much as possible.

Adapto Transport will run as normal.
