The City of Luxembourg has announced the scheduled removal of Bird e-scooters from the capital.

Following a consultation meeting between Bird and the Mayor of Luxembourg City, Lydie Polfer, and other representatives of the City of Luxembourg, on Thursday morning, the US-based electric scooter rental service has agreed to remove its self-service electric scooters within the next two days.

Commenting on this decision, a Bird spokesperson told Silicon Luxembourg: "While Bird believes it’s current operation in perfectly compliant with the current regulations we have decided to pause the service as a gesture of goodwill while we make some changes to the way we operate".

The removal comes just over a week after the e-scooter service's arrival in Luxembourg City.
