Today marked the launch of the application process for the first subsidies for the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles in Luxembourg.
As of Thursday 1 August 2019, individuals wishing to purchase an electric or hybrid vehicle in Luxembourg can apply for a government subsidy. The subsidy is aimed at promoting electromobility and active mobility, thus making mobility more sustainable in the long-term.
The subsidy applies to the purchase of any new, fully electric motor vehicle. The vehicle must be registered in Luxembourg for the first time between 1 January and 31 December 2019 inclusive.
In accordance with the Grand-Ducal Regulation, applications may be submitted no earlier than seven months after the date on which the vehicle was registered in the name of the applicant.
