The CFL FLEX Carsharing initiative has introduced a new pricing structure, encompassing a uniform hourly rate and a night rate.

Set up by Luxembourg's railways, the CFL, FLEX Carsharing has introduced uniform hourly rates that will now apply to all types of subscriptions, from 22:00 to 06:00, regardless of the period of use. In addition, the previous adjustment according to the length of the trip is no longer applicable for the price per kilometre. The basic monthly subscription costs for individuals (Flex Basic, Flex Gold, Flex Gold +), as well as the Flex Bizz package, will remain unchanged.

With this new pricing model, Flex is responding to demand from its users, said Managing Director Jürgen Berg: "We started more than a year ago, and we have learned from our 1,300 existing customers who have expressed their desire for a simple and transparent pricing model several times in recent months. With the new rates, we are now responding to this desire, and "self-sharing" can now use our vehicles with even greater freedom."

The revised tariff structure is the second innovation since the beginning of the year. In March, two Flex stations were installed respectively at the Dommeldange station and in the centre of Bonnevoie. At the same time, the Flex station in Hesperange received an additional vehicle on an experimental basis.

According to Jürgen Berg, the construction and extension of the Flex stations, as well as the new rates, represent Flex's philosophy: "Our goal is to make flexible mobility a possible solution for everyone by creating a user-friendly offer."

The service currently offers three types of vehicles, 80 cars and more than 30 Flex stations. To access Flex, new customers only have to choose a subscription, register on flex.lu and withdraw their Flex card before their first trip. Costs are incurred only for use; gas, insurance, maintenance and Flex service are all included in the package price.
