On Saturday afternoon, Den Danske Kirke, the Danish Church in Luxembourg, held its traditional Christmas Market at the Salle Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
In the morning, the event was officially opened by Corinne Cahen, Luxembourg's Minister for the Family and Integration, and Louise Bang Jespersen, the Danish Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg.
The event was very colourful with Denmark's red and white everywhere to be seen.
Each year around €40,000 is raised at the Danish Christmas Market in Luxembourg, in aid of the Danish Church, with Christmas presents, Christmas decorations being very popular, along with the tombola and lots to eat and drink including Danish smørrebrød, Æbleskiver and Gløgg (Christmas doughnuts and mulled wine). There was also a second-hand stand with clothes, books, DVDs and CDs
