On Thursday 8 October 2015, the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Residence, or Konviktsgaart, will be opening its doors to the public for information and guided tours.
After a welcome breakfast of coffee and croissant at 09:30, interested parties will receive the opportunity to discover more about the offers and services of this house which is specially adapted to the needs of people aged 65 and older.
The Konviktsgaart is located at 11 Avenue Marie-Thérèse in a quiet, green and secure environment minutes from the city centre. The Konviktsgaart offers 111 lodgings in a living area varying between 39 and 55 m2, as well as necessary services such as a restaurant, cafeteria, a grocery, a hairdresser, a bank machine, library, laundry room and underground parking.
The offer is also complemented by a weekly chapel service, gym and dance classes tailored to the elderly and regular activities and events such as concerts, cultural, culinary and convivial meetings. The open days event will also allow those interested to learn more about short stays, or holiday beds, of which Konviktsgaart provides eight, both individual and doubles, throughout the year.
After a complementary aperitif between 11:00 and 12:00, visitors will be able to discover the Konviktsgaart restaurant which will be collaborating with Max Kuborn for the occasion to provide a traditional autumn lunch at 12:00 for the prices of €15 excluding drinks. Visitors may also buy apples, pears, pies and 'Quetschendrëpp' onsite.
Guided tours will take place at 10:00, 11:00, 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30. A tea dance will also be held from 14:00 to 17:00 with the Los Figaro orchestra.
