On Thursday 22 December 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), published a weekly review in relation to COVID-19.
For the week of 12 to 18 December 2022, 1,105 vaccination doses were administered: 15 people received a first dose, 10 received a second dose, 101 people received a first additional dose compared to a complete regimen, 933 a second additional dose compared to a complete schedule, 46 a third additional dose compared to a complete schedule and 0 a fourth additional dose compared to a complete schedule, bringing the total number of vaccines administered as of 19 December to 1,292,614.
A total of 474,884 people now have a complete vaccination schedule, which corresponds to a vaccination rate of 79% compared to the vaccinable population (including the 5+ population).
Temporary closure of the Victor Hugo vaccination centre over the holiday period
The Victor Hugo vaccination centre will be temporarily closed from 24 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.
Opening of an Esch-Belval pop-up vaccination centre on 23 December 2022
In order to facilitate the possibility of being vaccinated, a pop-up vaccination centre will open on 23 December 2022 in Esch-Belval in the Belval Plaza shopping centre on the 1st floor.
It will be open on Fridays from 10:00 to 16:00 (on Friday 30 December 2022, the pop-up will be closed exceptionally).

Wastewater monitoring in Luxembourg in the context of SARS-CoV-2
The CORONASTEP report is drawn up every 15 days. According to the latest report established by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), the level of contamination of the 13 wastewater treatment plants analysed during weeks 49 and 50 of 2022 shows a still high prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater. A clear upward trend in SARS-CoV-2 genome flow was observed during week 50.
