On Tuesday 15 February 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 549 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 979 fatalities (three new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

549 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 2,351 tests carried out the day before, representing 86.49 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 23.38%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 757.86. 

A total of 67 people are in hospital with the virus, including eleven patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 17,552 active infections known, whilst a total of 156,877 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.81.

A total of 1,255,313 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (477,239 first doses, 424,323 second doses, 353,751 additional doses). A total of 465,789 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 107.80; for vaccinated individuals, this was 78.06. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
