On Monday 14 February 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported fifteen new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 976 fatalities (seven new deaths over the weekend) resulting from the virus to date.
Fifteen Luxembourg residents tested positive on Monday from a total of 392 tests carried out the day before, representing 2.36 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 3.83%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 838.29.
A total of 63 people are in hospital with the virus, including twelve patients in intensive care.
There are currently 17,119 active infections known, whilst a total of 156,761 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.51.
A total of 1,254,229 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (477,059 first doses, 424,063 second doses, 353,107 additional doses). A total of 465,527 people are now fully vaccinated.
The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 4.99; for vaccinated individuals, this was 1.32. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
