On Wednesday 9 February 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 1,352 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 966 fatalities (no new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

1,352 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 5,053 tests carried out the day before, representing 213.00 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 26.78%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 1352.

A total of 80 people are in hospital with the virus, including eight patients in intensive care.

There are currently 26,754 active infections known, whilst a total of 143,732 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.88.

A total of 1,247,479 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (476,439 first doses, 422,025 second doses, 349,015 additional doses). A total of 463,481 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 323.18; for vaccinated individuals, this was 168.63. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
