
On Wednesday 29 September 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 132 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 835 fatalities (no new deaths since 22 September) resulting from the virus to date.
132 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 3,021 tests carried out the day before, representing 20.8 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 4.37%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 59.57.
A total of 25 people are in hospital with the virus, including nine patients in intensive care.
There are currently 1,166 active infections known, whilst a total of 76,129 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.02.
A total of 785,299 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (418,454 first doses, 366,845 second doses). A total of 404,449 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
