On Wednesday 9 July 2026, Luxembourg wine producer Bernard-Massard announced that its wine trading company, Europe Vins, has taken over the distribution of Champagne Deutz in Luxembourg, marking a new partnership between the two family-owned businesses.

According to Bernard-Massard, both businesses share common values, including respect for tradition, high quality standards, historic expertise and the ambition to build long-term relationships with partners.

Founded nearly two centuries ago, Maison Deutz is based in Aÿ, in France's Champagne region. A founding member of the Syndicat des Grandes Marques since 1882, the producer accounts for less than 1% of total champagne production and is recognised for the elegance, precision and consistency of its cuvées. Its champagnes are widely appreciated by wine enthusiasts, restaurateurs and wine merchants alike.

The company said its approach to winemaking begins in the vineyard, where it works with its own vineyards and long-standing partner winegrowers within a 20-kilometre radius of Aÿ.

Harvesting takes place according to the ripeness of each individual plot, while fermentation is carried out slowly at 15°C to preserve freshness and aromatic precision. Deutz added that it has held VDC and HVE Level 3 environmental certifications since 2015 and began converting all of its estate-owned vineyards to organic certification in 2023.

Marc Hoellinger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maison Deutz, commented: "Our ambition is to showcase the greatness of the Champagne terroirs through the creation of elegant, finely crafted wines that bring pleasure. Our vision therefore found a natural resonance with Bernard-Massard and Europe Vins, who have established themselves as key players in the wine sector in Luxembourg and with whom we share the philosophy of a family-owned house, a pursuit of excellence and quality."

Bernard-Massard said taking over the distribution reflects a shared ambition to continue developing the Deutz brand in Luxembourg while building on the work already carried out and maintaining close relationships with market partners. Both companies said they look forward to writing the next chapter of Champagne Deutz's history in Luxembourg.

Antoine Clasen, Managing Director of Bernard-Massard and Europe Vins, added: "We are very proud to represent Maison Deutz in Luxembourg. It is a brand that is already very well distributed, highly respected and perfectly matches the world of quality that we want to promote to our customers."
