The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 44.14.

A total of seventeen people are in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care.

As per figures from Thursday 3 June 2021, there are currently 808 active infections known, whilst a total of 68,556 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.85.

As of Thursday, a total of 373,485 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (242,374 first doses, 131,111 second doses); 4,657 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,914 received their second dose on Thursday.

The Health Ministry recently announced that, in view of the positive evolution of the health situation, it will no longer communicate data relating to COVID-19 on weekends, from 5 June 2021 until further notice. This decision has been taken to allow a moment of respite for the hospital and monitoring teams.

The above graph shows the evolution of the spread of coronavirus in the Grand Duchy on a daily basis since 1 March 2020 (excluding 9 December, for which figures remain unknown), with the orange line showing the daily numbers averaged over the past week; the graph below shows the total figures (cumulative) over the same period.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
