On Wednesday 2 June 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 44 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 818 fatalities (one new death since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

44 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 6,665 tests carried out the day before, representing 6.93 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 0.66%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 45.00. 

A total of 21 people are in hospital with the virus, including five patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 1 June 2021, there are currently 893 active infections known, whilst a total of 68,316 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.99.

As of Tuesday, a total of 356,322 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (232,381 first doses, 123,941 second doses); 2,669 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,595 received their second dose on Tuesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
