Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has reported 70 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections from 8,836 tests carried out on residents on Thursday; there have been 124 fatalities (no change since 17 August) resulting from the virus to date.
The total number of Luxembourg residents having tested positive for coronavirus reached 7,159 as of early evening on Friday 11 September 2020.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 43.29.
The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 21, with one patient in intensive care. At present, there are 614 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,421 people have recovered from the virus.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.10.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
