Further to the announcement yesterday, Wednesday 15 April 2020, when the Government cabinet decided on guidelines regarding a phased lockdown exit in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Defence Department has confirmed details of the disbursement of protective face masks.

As of Monday 20 April 2020, oral protection will be mandatory for everyone when a protective distance of two metres cannot be respected between individuals.

The government has decided to allocate free-of-charge a kit of five masks per employee to companies.

In a first phase, the Luxembourg army, together with the Chamber of Trades (Chambre des Métiers), will organise the distribution of masks for all companies in the craft sector which are set to emerge from confinement next Monday, 20 April. This will take place in car park E at Findel airport, on Friday 17, Saturday 18, Sunday 19 and Monday 20 April 2020, from 09:00 - 18:00, via a drive-through system.

All artisanal companies concerned will thus be given their masks, upon compulsory presentation of proof of their craftsmanship and / or of the link with the company (copy of the artisan card, of a copy of their authorisation).

For organisational reasons and obvious health constraints, companies are requested to come and obtain their masks as far as possible according to the following schedule:

• Companies whose name begins with the letter A to J: Friday, 17 April 2020;
• Companies whose name begins with the letter K to P: Saturday, 18 April 2020;
• Companies whose name begins with the letter Q to Z: Sunday, 19 April 2020;
• Companies that could not come the previous days: Monday, 20 April 2020.

Masks for companies other than those mentioned above will be distributed together with the Chamber of Commerce. Companies will be informed of the exact terms as soon as possible.
