The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 3,270 (up 47 from Friday), including 62 fatalities (up from 54) resulting from the virus, as of late afternoon on Saturday 11 April 2020: the increase in deaths from the virus over the last 24 hours (8) is the highest daily number recorded to date in the Grand Duchy.

Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 2,679 are residents and 591 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 46, with the ratio of men to women is 50.5% / 49.5%, while the median age of the 62 victims (excluding one patient from the Grand Est) who lost their lives to the virus is 86 (the average age is 84). 210 people remain hospitalised at present in relation to COVID-19, including 33 patients (plus ten from the Grand Est) in intensive care. Nevertheless, 444 have been discharged from hospital.

Emergency services and healthcare for non-COVID-19-related ailments remain operational. On Friday, Health Minister Lenert added that hospitals and medical staff are well-equipped and available to take care of all patients.

Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out a total of 28,965 tests (23,724 on residents, 5,241 on non-residents). The Grand Duchy is carrying out around six times as many tests (per population numbers) as neighbouring countries.
