The Grand Ducal Police have warned of fraudulent emails sent in the name of the Luxembourg Police or foreign police authorities.
In a statement issued on Thursday 15 October 2026, the police said there had recently been numerous reported cases in which individuals received emails purportedly from the Directorate-General of the Luxembourg Police or foreign police authorities in connection with an alleged criminal investigation.
The police clarified that these emails are part of a scam and that this does not correspond to police procedures.
The police advised anyone receiving such emails not to follow the instructions contained in them, but to ignore and delete the messages.
