On Tuesday 28 July 2026, the Luxembourg Red Cross reported that its Château de Colpach Rehabilitation Centre (CRCC) in Colpach-Bas had been awarded Platinum certification by Accreditation Canada International (ACI), an international healthcare accreditation body.

According to the organisation, the certification was awarded following the centre's first application for accreditation and recognises its high standards of quality of care, patient safety and continuous improvement.

The certification, which is valid for three years, was awarded following an assessment of the organisation of care, patient safety, the management of the institution and its processes, the improvement of professional practices, as well as the involvement of patients and their families. The Platinum level is granted to hospitals that demonstrate an exceptionally high level of compliance with these requirements, exceeding the criteria for the Gold level.

The Luxembourg Red Cross noted that the accreditation process covered more than 700 criteria and assessed all rehabilitation services provided by the centre, including both inpatient and outpatient care. It also recognised the work of the centre's interdisciplinary teams, its support services and governance.

According to the organisation, the centre's professionals support each patient through an individual rehabilitation pathway, from the interdisciplinary assessment of needs to preparation for returning to everyday life. Preparation for the certification also enabled the centre to review all of its processes and further refine and standardise its operational protocols.

"We are delighted with this certification, which recognises the daily commitment of all the centre's professionals," said Luc Scheer, Director General of the Château de Colpach Rehabilitation Centre. "I would like to thank our staff, our patients, our partners at the Luxembourg Red Cross and the healthcare professionals who contribute to the continuous development of our practices. Achieving the Platinum level is a recognition and a source of pride, but it is not an end in itself. It marks an important milestone in our pursuit of continuous improvement in the service of our patients.”
