On Thursday 11 June 2026, the Board of Directors of Luxembourg's National Procurement and Logistics Centre (CNAL) announced that Grégory Gaudillot had been appointed as the organisation's first Director, effective from 1 October 2026.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Security and the CNAL, the appointment represents an important milestone in the operational launch of the new public body, which is tasked with strengthening supply security, national health resilience and the efficiency of procurement and logistics within Luxembourg's healthcare sector.

A pharmacist by training, Grégory Gaudillot joined the Luxembourg Hospital Centre (CHL) in 2008 and has served as Head Pharmacist of the hospital pharmacy since 2010. Prior to moving to Luxembourg, he worked within France's public hospital system, including at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital Group and the General Agency for Healthcare Equipment and Products (AGEPS).

During his career at CHL, Grégory Gaudillot also held a number of management and cross-functional roles. His experience spans medicines and medical devices, quality and safety standards, supply chain management and the leadership of hospital teams and operational processes.

According to the CNAL, the organisation's mission is to centralise and optimise procurement and logistics activities across Luxembourg's healthcare sector. Its responsibilities will include operating as a central procurement body, acquiring and managing medical and healthcare products, medicines, pharmaceutical substances and supplies, as well as establishing and maintaining a national critical stockpile.

The CNAL will also operate a hospital pharmacy as an external structure under the authority and supervision of a Head Pharmacist. In addition, it may contribute to the distribution and management of strategic stocks and play a key role in the event of shortages, public health emergencies or crises.

The Board of Directors described Grégory Gaudillot's profile as particularly well suited to the CNAL's mission. His dual experience as a hospital pharmacist and operational manager, combined with his knowledge of hospital supply chains, medico-pharmaceutical governance and the organisational challenges facing the healthcare sector, were cited among the key factors behind his appointment.

"Appointing Mr Grégory Gaudillot to lead the CNAL reflects our determination to entrust this strategic mission to a recognised professional with strong pharmaceutical expertise, extensive hospital experience and a detailed understanding of purchasing, logistics and health security challenges. The CNAL must become a robust, agile and collaborative tool serving healthcare institutions, healthcare professionals and, ultimately, patients," said Xavier Poos, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In his new role, Grégory Gaudillot will lead the development of the CNAL, including the organisation of its procurement and logistics processes, the management of the national critical stockpile and coordination with hospitals, healthcare providers, healthcare professionals and public authorities.

"I am honoured by the confidence placed in me. The CNAL represents a major structural project for Luxembourg. It must address very practical challenges: guaranteeing the availability of essential products, meeting the needs of doctors and healthcare teams, supporting frontline professionals, strengthening our capacity to respond in times of crisis and contributing to a more efficient use of resources. I look forward to putting my experience at the service of this collective mission," said Grégory Gaudillot.
