Lux-Airport, the operating company of Luxembourg Airport, has announced that its current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), René Steinhaus, will step down from the role at the end of this month.
René Steinhaus, who has served as lux-Airport CEO since March 2018, will leave the company at his own request at the end of April 2022 to pursue new professional challenges.
He will be succeeded by Alexander Flassak, the current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Deputy CEO of lux-Airport, as interim CEO on 1 May 2022.
Alexander Flassak joined lux-Airport in 2014 as Director Finance and Real Estate. Prior to this role, he worked with Ernst & Young for nine years, in Frankfurt (Germany) and in Luxembourg.
The Board of Directors of lux-Airport stated: "We very much regret that René Steinhaus will be leaving our company and would like to express our thanks to him on behalf of the Board of Directors and the employees. He has made a significant contribution to the development of the company in recent years, even in a particularly difficult time for aviation due to the pandemic. We wish him all the best in his professional and private life".
