According to ADEM, Luxembourg's unemployment agency, the number of resident jobseekers available for work as of 28 February 2022 stood at 15,340; over one year, this represents a decrease of 4,136 people, or 21.2%.

The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations, calculated by STATEC, remained stable at 4.9%.

Figures were down for all categories of jobseekers, including those who had been registered with ADEM for more than twelve months. However, the long-term unemployed still represented 49.2% of all available resident jobseekers.

The number of new registrations remained relatively low in February 2022. A total of 1,848 residents registered with ADEM during the month in question, a drop of 267 people (or 12.7%) compared to February 2021. The number of registrations was thus below the level observed in 2018. The last time this number was so low was in 2018.

The number of resident jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 2,573 or 25.4% over one year, to 7,555. 

The number of resident jobseekers assigned to an employment measure stood at 4,298 as of 28 February 2022. Over one year, this constitutes an increase of 162 people, or 3.9%.

During the month of February 2022, employers declared 3,507 vacancies to ADEM, which corresponds to an increase of 16.4% over one year. The total number of positions available at the end of February 2022 stood at 11,027 (up 49.1% compared to the previous year).
