With over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Paul Lawrence will be responsible for Elian’s entire European administration offering for real estate and private equity managers and investors, including depositary services.
He will ensure the delivery of a consistent and high quality client experience from Elian’s 130-strong European funds team, and will also oversee Elian’s Asia funds operations, coordinating the company’s growing Asian presence in response to inward and outward European investment flows.
Following Elian's acquisition of SFM Europe in 2015, the company now has the core strength in Europe to meet the growing demands of private equity and real estate fund managers for vertically integrated outsourced administration solutions.
Paul Lawrence, who will move from Luxembourg to London to take up the newly created role, said: "As part of a multi jurisdictional business in an increasingly complex global regulatory environment we felt it was important to have regional centres of excellence to assist our clients in navigating this complexity and finding the right solution for their fund structures."
Further investment in funds services is expected in 2016. "Elian is backed by ISAE 3402 accredited procedures and best in class systems, and in early 2016 we will further enhance our technology solution to deliver real time reporting for investors via a secure portal, allowing clients to access static and dynamic data relating to their investments from anywhere in the world," explained Mr Lawrence.

Paul Lawrence has worked in the UK, Isle of Man, Jersey and Luxembourg. He has extensive experience in establishing and administering private equity and real estate structures for institutional clients, including private equity managers, pension funds and listed property companies, utilising his extensive commercial real estate knowledge.
Paul Lawrence joined the firm in 2008 and most recently held the position of managing director of Elian in Luxembourg and global head of real estate services.
