The government today released unemployment rates for the end of May 2015, showing a decrease from 7.0% in the month of February to 6.9% currently.
The unemployment rate, calculated as the number of available jobseekers residing in the country divided by the resident workforce, shows a decline of 0.1% in the last three months and 0.4% in the last year.
From 31 May 2015, figures show that the number of unemployed residents who are registered with ADEM, available and not assigned to any form of employment stands at 17,229 people. This demonstrates a decrease in a year of 581 people, or 3.3%.
The number of applicants who receive full unemployment benefits amounts to 6,893 people in late May 2015 - a decrease of 6.4% compared to last year's statistics for the same month.
In May 2015, 2,519 vacancies were reported (FLUX) with Agence pour le Développement de l'Emploi (ADEM) or 128 units more than for May of the previous year. The number of vacancies unfilled at the month's end (STOCK) has risen to 5,011.
