The number of employees in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has increased by 0.6% in Q1 2015 compared to the previous quarter, and by 2.5% compared to Q1 2014.

The information and communication technology (ICT) sector, with an increase of +5.1% year on year, and specialised activities and support services, including legal and accounting, with 4.9% year on year, are again the most dynamic branches. The main ICT sub-sector showing growth is data hosting.

ICT and legal and accounting comprise 19% of Luxembourg employment and are responsible for around 40% of new jobs between the first quarter 2014 and the first quarter of 2015. These are essentially jobs with highly qualified profiles.

The number of cross-border workers grew slightly faster than the number of resident workers: +2.7% against +2.3% year-on-year.
