On Friday 29 April 2022, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke inaugurated a new building and company headquarters for Caisse Médico-Complémentaire Mutualiste (CMCM), located on rue de Hollerich, in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Fernand Etgen, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, the Minister of Social Security, Claude Haagen, the Mayor of Luxembourg-ville, Lydie Polfer, the President of the CMCM, André Heinen and the Director General of the CMCM, Fabio Secci.

The new premises – located next to the future site of the CNS National Health Fund within the social security quarter – will eventually bring together the various social security institutions and administrations, having already welcomed the CMCM’s 70 employees and members since September 2021. This new building is also referred to as the "Maison de la Mutualité" because both the Fédération Nationale de la Mutualité Luxembourgeoise (FNML) and the two mutual health funds CGPM (Caisse Générale de Prévoyance Mutualiste) and CDM (Caisse de Décès Mutualiste) have also found their new headquarters here.

Having taken three and a half years to build, this six-storey building boasts 86 photovoltaic panels, which will be used to cover part of the building's energy needs.

Director General Secci said: “This new, more airy and welcoming building has been introduced as part of the CMCM's positive growth strategy and constant search for new talent. We are proud to be able to inaugurate this project, which is the fruit of our commitment to meet the needs of our members and collaborators”.

Minister Haagen said: “Mutual insurance companies are important players that contribute to strengthening the solidarity of our society. Since its creation in 1956, the CMCM has played an essential role in complementing Luxembourg’s general social security system and has enabled many insured persons to enjoy additional protection when required. I wish the CMCM well at its new premises and hope that this new working environment will enable it to continue to develop”. The Ministry of Social Security is the supervisory ministry for mutual insurance companies.

Mayor Polfer said: “After more than 20 years at rue de Strasbourg and having experienced a growth that rivals even that of the City of Luxembourg, the CMCM can now welcome its members and collaborators at its spacious and welcoming premises near the city’s future social security quarter, which will be built next to the Nei Hollerich district over the forthcoming years. The inauguration of the new head office is therefore a sign of the district’s transformation, which will consolidate diversity in jobs, services, shops and housing more than ever before”.

The CMCM is a complementary health insurance scheme that currently covers more than 142,000 families or, approximately 280,000 members.
