On Thursday 5 June 2025, Allianz Benelux announced the appointment of Paul Lecoublet as CEO of Allianz Life Luxembourg, effective as of Tuesday 1 July 2025.

In a press release announcing this news, Allianz Benelux said it aims to pursue profitable growth in the life and health insurance sector in the Benelux region. At the same time, wealth management represents a key strategic focus due to the size of the market and its expected growth. The reported objective is to strengthen Allianz Benelux's market share in this key segment in Europe, using Luxembourg as a platform, while continuing to invest in its development in the Belgian market.

Allianz Benelux noted that it reflects this strategy in its new organisation: a new Chief Life, Health and Wealth Officer will join the Management Committee as of Monday 18 August 2025. This new member will succeed Kathleen Van den Eynde, who is retiring on Monday 30 June 2025, and will add wealth management to her scope of responsibility. Details of this appointment will be communicated closer to her start date. During the interim period, Claudia Max will hold this role.

Paul Lecoublet will succeed Eric Winter as CEO of Allianz Life Luxembourg as of 1 July. As of 18 August, he will report directly to the new Chief Life, Health and Wealth Officer.

The firm noted that both appointments are subject to regulatory approval.

According to Allianz Benelux, Paul Lecoublet has extensive experience in wealth management, finance and insurance. He joined the Generali Group in 2010, where he held various international positions in the life and non-life segments, after several years in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate finance. He was appointed CEO of Generali Luxembourg in 2019. He holds a Master of Science in Management from EM Lyon Business School and a degree in Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Claudia Max, Regional CEO of Allianz Benelux, commented: "I look forward to continuing to strengthen our position in life, health and wealth management in the Benelux, alongside our clients and partners, with the support of our new colleagues. I welcome Paul Lecoublet, who will report directly to our new Chief Life, Health and Wealth Officer, whom we look forward to joining on 18 August. This new organisation reflects our ambition to take a significant step forward in the development of wealth management throughout the Benelux".

"At the same time, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Kathleen and Eric for their contributions," she continued. "Kathleen has played a key role over the years in consolidating our position in the life and health market. As for Eric, during his almost seven years at the helm of Allianz Life Luxembourg, he has worked tirelessly to transform and build the resilience of our wealth management business. On behalf of Allianz Benelux, I warmly thank them for all they have accomplished and wish them the best for the future."

Eric Winter will step down as CEO of Allianz Life Luxembourg and member of the Allianz Benelux Management Board on 30 June.
