Julien Jenoudet, CEO and founder of IgniSign SA;

Chronicle.lu recently had the opportunity to speak with Julien Jenoudet, CEO and founder of IgniSign SA, to learn more about this Luxembourg-based startup.

This article forms part of a series of interviews with "newcomers" hosted at the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), i.e. startups having joined the LHoFT since 1 January 2022. IgniSign has been present at the LHoFT since December 2022.

Julien Jenoudet (CEO) and Paul Cayon (CTO) founded IgniSign in March 2022. They also form part of the team (CEO and CTO, respectively) at another Luxembourg-based startup, BoardiGO SA.

Chronicle.lu: Please introduce your company and the products/services it offers.

Julien Jenoudet: IgniSign is the electronic signature API [application programming interface] for developers and applications that delivers easy integration, security features and cost-effectiveness. With full compliance with eIDAS regulations [EU regulation on electronic identification, authentification and trust services], the service guarantees legally binding signatures. IgniSign's pricing model allows free development and testing, with payment only required for signatures in production, and no upfront commitment. The three modes, embedded, managed and full privacy, accommodate a wide range of workflows. [You can] explore the service for free at ignisign.io.

Chronicle.lu: What led to the creation of your company?

Julien Jenoudet: [Co-founder] Paul Cayon and [I] spent a summer searching for an electronic signature API that was secure (i.e. eIDAS compliant), easy to integrate and affordable for [our] startup BoardiGO, the governance platform. Failing to find a suitable solution, [we] developed their signature using an industrial approach. This unconventional approach yielded a patented, innovative tech stack and a disruptive product.

Chronicle.lu: Why Luxembourg?

Julien Jenoudet: Luxembourg is an international city whose market is relevant to launch our product. Companies are looking for secure applications and productivity gains.

Chronicle.lu: What makes your company and its offer unique?

Julien Jenoudet: IgniSign solves the equation with the three following variables: eIDAS compliant, easy to integrate and price competitive.

Chronicle.lu: What's next for your company?

Julien Jenoudet: IgniSign aims to disrupt the large and fast growing e-signature market with its lean yet robust technology by offering low cost and legally binding e-signature (eIDAS) as an API.
